Dr. J Drake Wakefield is a board-certified anesthesiologist and fellowship-trained interventional pain management specialist dedicated to helping individuals reclaim their most cherished moments. Whether it involves resuming hobbies, enjoying time with family, or simply navigating daily life with less pain, Dr. Wakefield is committed to enabling patients to lead fuller, more active lives.

A native of Columbus, Ohio, Dr. Wakefield earned his medical degree from the Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his residency in anesthesiology and perioperative medicine at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, followed by advanced fellowship training in interventional pain management at the University of Kentucky.

Dr. Wakefield employs a comprehensive and thoughtful approach to care. He integrates conservative therapies, image-guided procedures, and minimally invasive surgical techniques to develop personalized treatment plans that focus on each patient’s individual goals, comfort, and quality of life.
